Can ZPower solve users’ demand for longer Battery Life?

August 22nd, 2008

Last week the market analysis company Canalys published a report about the trends of the smart phone market in Europe. Amongst other things the report stated that 38% of phones shipped in Europe had GPS and 58% had Wi-Fi. There were quite a few other interesting discoveries in their research release, but one of the main concerns were that owners were not making full use of their phones for fear of draining their battery and not be able to make calls.

Tip of the Day - Auto-roaming

August 14th, 2008

Did you know that you can enable Auto-roaming in barablu for Nokia?

What it does?

Auto-roaming enables you to roam freely between 3G and Wi-Fi. For example, if you are connected to Wi-Fi and you leave the hotspot, then barablu can automatically connect again using GPRS, Edge or 3G.

This way you can make sure that you stay connected to barablu all the time - And you don’t have to manually sign into barablu if you loose your connection.

barablu numbers change format

August 8th, 2008

We have had some enquiries about our barablu personal numbers.

On the website we refer to this number as 8088… but lately we have changed the format, so when you sign up to barablu, the number you are given actually starts with 5600…

This has caused a little bit of confusion for new users who signed up to barablu.

Let me just point out that absolutely nothing has changed except for the format of the number.

The old and new format are 100% compatible with each other and you still get all the free calls and barablu features that you always did when signing up - Oh! and by the way!

Check out our new animation video which gives you an overview of some of the features you get when you do sign up to barablu.

Web Archaeology

July 30th, 2008

I like to start the day with a good laugh so I have subscribed to Wulffmorgenthaler’s comic strip for quite some time now. A while back I received the comic strip that you can see below (click it to enlarge), and it got me wondering if this scenario really was as far fetched as it was made out to be.

Sleipnir to Compete with IE and Firefox

July 23rd, 2008

Being a very satisfied Firefox user I would normally not pay too much attention to other players on the browser market, but an article from Computerworld about a Japanese browser maker, caught my interest.

I might as well be honest; Words like Fenrir(name of the company) and Sleipnir(name of the browser) taken from the Norse Mythology did probably have something to do with it. I am the barablu viking, after all… But reading on I found that, apart from the excellent name choosing, this browser also had a few interesting features.
